just some pictures

well since ive got no idea what to blog about and actually feel quite lazy but bored, im going to entertain you guys with some pictures...

with comments of course. :D

so some of the photos i might have uploaded it before, or maybe its new on the blog, i dont know. this computer doesnt have the software to properly edit new photos and im actually feeling quite lazy to do so right now. but anyway i just picked them out from an already edited library of photos, or photos which are unedited and look good as it is.

ok la, actually its not that they have to be edited, its just that they are in the wrong format, and i cant convert them on this computer. so anyway back to the pictures.

gahhh!! ok so those that i tried to upload didnt managed to get uploaded onto flickr. oh well.

P8104501

so this one was taken during the summit climbing gyms last competition titled "the last summit" it was also the last day that they would be open. quite a sad thing to happen for the first climbing gym to ever open in malaysia.

P8104510

this one is of the well missed mr thomas deiny. the crazy french dude that proved to us that french people in general are pretty crazy people. this photo was taken of him in the summit competition.

PA221253

this one was taken quite a while ago from the huge glass enclosure of camp5. this was probably taken during my first few months with my new olympus E 510 DSLR camera. i quite like this shot. click on the photo if you want to view a bigger picture, same goes for the other photos too.

Street shoot KL

i have a feeling that i've posted this before, but oh well. this picture was taken during a walkabout around petaling street. happened to pass by this dude with the crutches, so i just snapped a picture. i feel that this picture would look better if it was converted to B&W to reduce the distractions and also maybe add some vignetting. will experiment with that some time.

oh i think thats it. enjoy

looks like i've got some free time.

well i've recently managed to go through some photos that were taken recently. here is one of the pictures which i thought looked good. changed to B&W.

changed it to B&W cause i thought that the colours from all the holds on the wall was kinda distracting.

yes, i do still climb, tho not as often as i used to. oh, one thing i realised from this picture, I HAVE REALLY LONG HAIR!!!! too bad its getting cut within the next 2 weeks.

its been a while

yes it definetly has. when was the last time i made a post? 1 month ago? heck its ages ago.

well things are getting bussier everyday. or maybe its just becuase i seem to find everything to do but sit in front of the computer to type out a blog entry. i mean there is so much to see outside of the computer screen!

recently i learn't how to snakeboard. what is a snake board you ask? well its simillar to a skate board, but the wheels can turn.

yes thats a snake board. how does it move? well it works like the same principle as how snakes moves. in a 'S' shape fashion. takes some time to master, but its fun. i now use this to go to work, instead of using a car. much more environmentaly friendly :D

besides the snakeboard, i also recently accuired something new.

yes, i got myself a freggin slackline!! yeah!! now i dont need to wait for every wed, fri, or sundays to slackline in camp5. i can do it in any park that has trees! so if you guys wanna try out this ever so cool sport, do let me know. ill come over and set it up if i have the time. for more information on how slacklining goes, go to youtube and search up slackline.

so anyway, enough of random pictures taken off the net. its time to post up some photos that ive developed.

these are a few photos which i have no idea if i have posted it up before, but anyway, its of a local band, seven collar t-shirt. taken in laundry.

ok, i think thats it for now. lets hope that my next post would be much much sooner.

Sunburst Music Festival

finally i've forced myself to post some pictures from the sunburst music festival.
it took a while because i was lazy to post up the pictures. but after that i realised that i needed to edit the pictures alittle, so now with a newly reformated PC, a nice bunch of newly bought ram, and a few new photo editing programs (which i have yet to learn how to use), the photos are finally ready!
so i was mostly playing around with lightroom, hence the wierd effects on most of the photos. but some of them are mostly unedited as i was too lazy and the pictures didn't look so bad straight out of the camera.

all of the pictures were taken with my olympus ZD 70-300 f4-5.6

it was raining, and i only had the option of bringing one lens, so i decided on the tele lens. good thing i took the tele instead of the ZD 14-54 f2.8-3.4 or i wouldn't have been able to get the close ups. i didnt have a press pass, so i was basicly sneaking around the place and most of the time im qutie far away from the action. so im happy i took a tele :D
anyway, here goes!

here is one of one buck short.

for those of you that were there, you probably would have seen the bassists guitar flying across the stage. here is a picture i got a second before that happened.

and for those of you who wasn't there, i bet you can put the pieces together.

so what does a bassist without a guitar do?

he jumps around the stage and goes crowd surfing, or at least he tried to.

next up is tempered mental.

don't ask me why i didn't get pictures of the other band members. cause i have no idea why they are all missing from the frame.

next up would be most of the interenational bands. i was at the festival alittle late, therefore i missed out on most of the local gigs. plus it rained when i got there, so running around in the rain with a camera wouldn't really be so much fun.

here is some of the roots

i kinda like the mono tone ones. i feel like it gives a nice effect to concerts. i especially like the one above. the colour gives it a nice mood.

next is a "sort of" local artise, Che nelle.

only have one photo of her. i can't remember which band was playing at the same time as her, so i decided to watch the other band instead... :P

next up is Incognito! it was the first time i heard their music, and i must say, it was excelent! sadly i wasn't able to enjoy much of their music as i had to run off for incubus' press confrence. ARGH!!

ok, i think ive posted way to many pictures. blogger is starting to go haywire on me. more of incubus on the next post.

lightning!

last week end i was at PD. stayed at this resort called avillion.or something like that. cant really remember the exact spelling.

anyway, the hotel and all was a really nice place. they had challets over the sea and the place was just spectacular. my whole family was there including uncles, aunties, cousins and some friends to celebrate my sisters 21st birthday!

so my family got the vila, and it was absolutly cooL!! it had 2 balconies, 2 bed rooms, 2 toilets and one of it had an open air shower, 2 beds that werealmost boxed in by windows and some other stuff which i cant remember. it was absolutly cool!

anyway enough about the hotel, on the last night, i decided to take some photos of star trails, but sadly my cameras settings didnt allow me to. for those of you who are fimiliar with camera stuff you can read on, those of you who arent, can skip to the next paragraph. so my camera's bulb mode only allowed me to go for a maximum of 8 minutes of exposure. and i needed at least 30 minutes of exposure in order to get some nice light trails. so this was the closest i managed to get.

so it might not look so obvious, but you can actually see the stars in the picture above. damn lightning got in the way too.

then i next got this picture. then only i realized that tehre was a storm coming up, and decided to shift my attention to the storm. the storm was starting brewing out at sea. probably about 5-10 kilometers offshore. i got some really nice pictures. here goes.

i personally like the second lightning one the most. taking these photos wasnt easy. it was extreamly dark, so the only time i could see what i was taking was when the lightning struck. therefore it took a while for me to adjust the focus. i used the bulb mode again, and just waited for some nice lightning shots to strike then i stoped the exposure. so good thing it was really dark, if not i would have to keep shooting hoping i get lucking catching a lightning.

ok i think thats it.

some pictures from sunburst

ok, yet again its been a while. i think its about time i made a post.

here is just a short summary of whats been happening this part week.

lately ive been extreamly busy with school work. YES! for the very first time in noel's short life he is bummed out with school work. well i bet the amount of work i have isn't really that much, but in my terms it is quite alot. worst of all, all these work actually carries a percentage of marks which contribute to my finals. crazy shit rite?

anyway, i'm about half way done with my deadlines. still have another 2 more presentations to finish up. besides that, its all boring.

anyway, as the title says, here are some photos of incubus at sunburst. requested by marxha

ok it might look alittle gay posting up pictures of half naked guys, but marxha wanted it. she is a brandon boyd fan.

so to compensate for the excess of guys, here is one of fiqa shot at the finals of malaysian dream girl.

and another from one of my street shoots in KL.

some shots

ok, so yet again it has been a long time since i last posted.
but oh well... i have still yet to finnish the phuket post.
but in the mean time, here are some shots of some old cameras that i have. i was playing around with this technique of photographing items where the background is totally white. so here are the results of my expetimentations.
this is an olympus OM10. a film camera of mine that has long gone unused.
next is my mums old kodak camera that we brought back from my grand mothers place in terengganu. this camera uses some sort of different film which is different from those normally used today. so i doubt that i would ever get this camera to work again...
so yeah, its really easy to set up this white background thing (cant remember what this technique is called). all you have to do is get a few pieces of white paper, and put it at the base of the camera and also at the back of the camera, carefully hiding away the gaps between the pieces of paper. take the photo and then you got your shot!
this last photo was taken when i was walking around my park. managed to get this OK only sun set shot.

jon boodvile says that it represents hope!

whee!!
