lightning!

last week end i was at PD. stayed at this resort called avillion.or something like that. cant really remember the exact spelling.



anyway, the hotel and all was a really nice place. they had challets over the sea and the place was just spectacular. my whole family was there including uncles, aunties, cousins and some friends to celebrate my sisters 21st birthday!



so my family got the vila, and it was absolutly cooL!! it had 2 balconies, 2 bed rooms, 2 toilets and one of it had an open air shower, 2 beds that werealmost boxed in by windows and some other stuff which i cant remember. it was absolutly cool!


anyway enough about the hotel, on the last night, i decided to take some photos of star trails, but sadly my cameras settings didnt allow me to. for those of you who are fimiliar with camera stuff you can read on, those of you who arent, can skip to the next paragraph. so my camera's bulb mode only allowed me to go for a maximum of 8 minutes of exposure. and i needed at least 30 minutes of exposure in order to get some nice light trails. so this was the closest i managed to get.






so it might not look so obvious, but you can actually see the stars in the picture above. damn lightning got in the way too.

then i next got this picture. then only i realized that tehre was a storm coming up, and decided to shift my attention to the storm. the storm was starting brewing out at sea. probably about 5-10 kilometers offshore. i got some really nice pictures. here goes.

i personally like the second lightning one the most. taking these photos wasnt easy. it was extreamly dark, so the only time i could see what i was taking was when the lightning struck. therefore it took a while for me to adjust the focus. i used the bulb mode again, and just waited for some nice lightning shots to strike then i stoped the exposure. so good thing it was really dark, if not i would have to keep shooting hoping i get lucking catching a lightning.

here are some pictures that i took when i went to phuket before christmas.


this is a picture that i took while sitting on patong beach having a beer. the thai people here seem to love having dogs, and they take them everywhere!



this is a picture of bangla road in patong. yes, you read it right, its called bangla. its quite a cool place at night. this is the street where all the bars are located, lady man and pole dancers live. there is even a muai thai (kick boxing) stadium at the end of the street. at night they close this street off to traffic, thats why there is a huge amount of people on this street.


this is just some random picture that i took while walking around the area.


phuket is so cool, that they even sell guns in the open!!

hahah, you wish. those are BB guns. but they have a real good variety of real looking guns there.


a club that is located right opposite patong beach.


there are loads of these signs everywhere! at least we know where to go when there is a tsunami.


this is a picture of the gay street of phuket. loads of gay people there. went there by accident becuase the tuk tuk that was taking us back to the hotel was dropping some other people at this street. sorry the pics aren't that good, as i was taking the pictures in the wrong setting and was in quite a hurry while the tuk tuk drove along this street.

well you are actually looking at a balcony full of thai guys dressed up in skimpy black leather outfits. whats worst is that they were freaking dancing with all the spot lights right on them!!


this is a picture of 2 jeeps that look like army jeeps. it was the first time i saw one up close.

now this is a picture of a fishing boat.

when we were on a boat on the way to phi phi island, this green fishing boat passed us, and there was this thai guy which was so damn funny on that fishing boat. as their boat was passing by mine, he carried out this really long pole with fish or something hanging on both ends and did some weight lifting while giving that ARGH!!! sound.

it was one of those " you had to be there to see it for yourself" kinda things.

off to the land of the hornbills.

well my sister christobel left this morning to kuching. had to send her all the way to kl central at like 4.30 in the morning! grrr!

well she is there on her annual visit to kuching where she meets friends, crash cars, eat, buy some dum sum home, and also travel around.

this time she is going down there for the rainforest festival too!


well have fun there sister belle person lady.

my cousins came over for a visit last week. their family consists of 2 parents, and 4 really hyper-active kids. they love to jump around, run around, make loads of noise, and besides that, they make funny faces.

i woke up one morning without anything to do, so i decided to take a few pictures of 2 of my lil cousins.

not having anything more useful to do at 3 am in the morning.

what did i decide to do?

well i decided to see if i can find my blog on google, by typing different key words and you know what. i can't find it at all. i have tried everything from random sentences in my blog to hamsterinabox.blogspot.com which all never seems to work at all. i mean what the hell? how hard can it be for someone to find their own blog on the net through google?

then when i finally tried out 'hamsterinabox blogspot' i got a shock of my life. i stumbled upon one mf my sisters old posts. this was the post she made when she first found out that i blogged.
